All photos were taken with a digital camera, first a Canon G2, G5 and now a Leica VLUX-1. While the camera definitely has its limits, its compact design and light weight makes it possible to take it everywhere. It takes patience and some luck to get a nice shot.

I am attracted to wind sports, and when I read about power kites I knew I want to give it a try. Balancing a huge kite that is hovering in the sky and could easily lift and drag a person around is definitely challenging. I started out with a 1.8m kite, then 2.8m, 4.6m and 6.8m, finally ended up with a size I don't dare to fly on land. I am glad its just a kite and not a sportscar or airplane! :) |

I guess the first two are everyones favorite. Surprise: mine too. But apart from exotic destinations, California has a unique history that is very pleasant to explore: The 21 Spanish missions along "El Camino Real" are marvellous to visit and study.
