About V-Access - Credits and Copyrights
=======================================
V-Access was developed as a simple online tracking and process automation
tool. It tracks network access of IT vendors (such as SUN, CISCO, HP, etc)
to our computers for remote troubleshooting and diagnosis. We are very
concerned about allowing "live" access to our production systems. We insist
on strict tracking, multiple levels of logs and controls, authorizing access
via one-time tokens and a call-back mechanism for VPN and dial-in access.
Initially written in Perl, V-Access was transfered into 'C', using CGI
technology with a DBM database for storage.
The benefit is a centrally located reporting system that keeps all data
in one place and is accessible from anywhere with a browser. The design
implements a 3-level access control for viewing data, entering data
and managing the whole system.
V-Access has been developed for use with a Apache webserver under Unix.
It is using libraries such as:
GNU libc
GDBM
CGIC
To my best knowledge I need to mention copyrights of the GPL, Thomas
Boutell for the cgic library, Philip A. Nelson and Jason Downs with the
Free Software Foundation for the GDBM database.
This software is released under the terms of the GPL license, provided as is,
with no warranties whatsoever. You are free to use it, change it and do
whatever you want provided you keep the original author information intact.
